Meet Matt Pardieck
Author | Speaker | Advisor
A polymath and constant learner with a heart, Matt has spent his life navigating the intersection of logic and creativity, strategy and human impact, money and meaning. With a background in aeronautical engineering, a career in financial services, and a lifelong dedication to the arts and mentorship, he brings the analytics of an engineer, the wisdom of a seasoned investor, and the soul of an artist to everything he does.
Growing up in Summerville, Matt’s finance career began in 1995 as both a corporate pilot and a junior wealth advisor to a large team of tax/wealth specialists in Indianapolis that included attorneys and CPA’s. The firm acted as technical back office to regional accounting firms in small business consulting and was one of the largest life insurance producing groups in country. He opened a franchise back home in Charleston within a local accounting firm before joining Palmer & Cay Consulting as an internal regional resource, building a 9 figure institutional retirement consulting practice in only a few years and nearly helping to bring Hershey foods private through an ESOP. After Palmer & Cay sold and closed local operations, he joined Merrill Lynch in 2005 moving into wealth management. He was first in regional complex to graduate from training program in under a year and was quickly promoted to management of the local Mount Pleasant office. Shortly after the financial crisis, he and his team from Merrill founded the Harbour Wealth Management team at Raymond James.
In 2021, Harbour became an independent RIA and earned a prestigious affiliation with M Financial Group, returning him to entrepreneurial roots and reinforcing the group’s technical resources. He published a book in 2022, The Bottom Line of Happiness, a book helping to align personal & business goals from start-up to exit for the ‘big-hearted business owner’.
His technical foundation includes a BS in Aeronautical Engineering from Purdue, with a major in aviation economics. His designations include Certified Financial Planner®, Certified Investment Management Analyst®, Chartered Life Underwriter® and Chartered Financial Consultant®. His group actively engages with the Investments and Wealth Institute, Financial Planning Association, Carolina Planned Giving Council & Together SC.
Beyond finance, Matt is a lifelong musician—a classical pianist, guitarist, and singer—he’s played in many churches in both traditional and praise music and understands the power of creativity to transform lives. As former Chair of Charleston Jazz, he coordinated the launching of the Charleston Jazz Academy, providing thousands of kids access to music education. His passion for mentorship extends beyond the arts: he’s a second-degree black belt and has spent over a decade teaching karate at Metanoia’s Freedom School, empowering kids with discipline and confidence. He has also been a Big Brother, a Junior Achievement volunteer, a literacy advocate, and a relentless champion for youth education and empowerment.
At the core of Matt’s work is faith—a driving force behind his desire to serve others and a constant source of hope for humanity. He believes that true success is measured not just in wealth but in impact, and that every opportunity to uplift others is a step toward a more connected and compassionate world.
Matt lives in Mt. Pleasant, SC with his wife Alissa and son Matthew is currently attending Radford—his greatest reminders that the best investments are the ones that shape lives.
