Hello all!
Ukraine: After listening to a few Generals and geo-political experts, while war is inherently unpredictable, the consensus seems to be of a medium term quagmire with limited risk of escalation. However, the disruptions to world food supply (not even mentioning energy) will have far reaching and ever growing ramifications, especially to poorer countries. It may feel doom and gloom from news everywhere, but the United States is really in a fortunate position with our strong production capabilities in both food and energy.
Web 3.0/Blockchain/NFT/AI: Many sessions talked about the continuing potential for these technologies revolutionizing/disrupting existing industries. These sectors have been hit very hard, drawing many parallels to the dot.com bubble of 2001. It does feel like many of the weaker businesses could be shaken out while those surviving could be in for significant rally. In 2001 Pets.com, Boo.com, Webvan.com didn’t make it while Amazon, eBay and Priceline survived and thrived.
